Monday Made It

Fourth Grade Frolics

I love to crochet.  I'm not a master, but I can make a pretty amazing scarf and a decent baby blanket.  I try to make a blanket for the babies born in our family.  Recently, our nephew and his wife had their first child.  The baby's room is decorated with navy blue, gray and white.  This is his blanket.

I used the slanted shell stitch, which is pretty much my go-to stitch.  So easy and so pretty.

Last week I was blog hopping and read that someone had made or was thinking of making Blueberry Lemon Bars.  Well, I had never heard of these, but I love blueberries and I love lemons.  The idea stuck with me.  So, I tried to find the blog where I had read about it and I couldn't find it, anywhere ~  (So sorry!)  I searched the net for a recipe and found dozens.  I chose one randomly, and yesterday I just had to make them.

Click here to see the recipe I used.

They were tasty, but I felt the texture was not quite right.  Later, I re-read the recipe and realized I had skipped the part where I was supposed to
chill them before eating.
(Hmmm, hmmm! Goodness gracious . . . )
After we chilled them, they were perfect.

I was happy the recipe lines the baking pan with aluminum foil; no sticking, easy clean up.

We gave half of the batch to our neighbor or else we would have eaten the entire pan ourselves.

Great summer dessert or snack -
